CORINNE KENTOR
RESEARCH
My research is longitudinal, interdisciplinary, and highly collaborative. I am broadly concerned with how policy shapes access to educational opportunity, as well as the myriad ways in which people exercise care for one another in relation to institutional demands. As an ethnographer, I take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of education, utilizing a variety of qualitative methods drawn from anthropology, history, sociology, and rhetorical/discursive analysis.

This annual report is a collaboration between the Presidents' Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration and the Migration Policy Institute. The report provides a detailed overview of the growing first and second generation student populations enrolled in U.S. higher education and highlights their cultural, economic, and intellectual impact.

My current research investigates the impact of the 2024-2026 Better FAFSA rollout on students from mixed-status immigrant families.
